Oberhauser leads workshop at Women and Gender in International Development Conference

Ann Oberhauser, director of women’s and gender studies at Iowa State University, led a workshop at the Women and Gender in International Development Conference at Virginia Tech on February 28 through March 2, 2019 at Virginia Tech.

The conference, organized by the Center for International Research, Education, and Development (CIRED), has a mission to “work towards gender equality in development by promoting gender sensitivity in every CIRED project and ensuring that women benefit.”

“Participants at the conference were from all over the world and gave several faculty and graduate students from ISU the opportunity to meet and learn more about gender issues in international development,” Oberhauser said.

Oberhauser’s presentation was titled, “Community engagement in feminist participatory research methods.”
