Bio
Colin Larter is a Ph.D. Candidate and instructor in the Iowa State University Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. His dissertation research focuses on the relationship between social structures and changing resident networks in impacting rural quality of life. As a sociologist interested in peoples lived experiences. His other areas of research include rural crime, deskilled laborer conditions, and survey methodology. With his experience in mixed-methods survey design, he has also brought the sociological discipline to numerous interdisciplinary research teams at Iowa State University and North Carolina State University. He is a graduate student leader in both the sociology and criminal justice honors society at Iowa State University where he serves as an academic and career mentor to undergraduate students. He currently teaches CJ-2420: Introduction to Criminology and SOC/CJ- 3400: Deviant and Criminal Behavior.
