Monic Behnken, associate professor of sociology and director of the Leadership Studies Program, together with a collaborative team of researchers, was recently awarded a grant by the SAMHSA’s (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) GAINS Center for Behavioral Health and Justice Transformation.
Fifty applications for the grant were received. Behnken’s team earned one of only 10 grants that were awarded.
Behnken submitted a proposal to have GAINS Center staff conduct Sequential Intercept Mapping workshops to help Story County develop a comprehensive, community-wide strategic plan for addressing opioid use.
