Shawn Dorius, associate professor of sociology, participated in several workshops over the summer, both on and off campus. He was an instructor at the National Science Foundation-funded Midwest Big Data Summer School, held in May at Iowa State. He taught two seminars, including “An Introduction to Computational Propaganda Research” and “Visualizing Administrative Data with Tableau.” He also gave an invited talk, “Attitudes Toward China Project: A Social Scientific Approach,” at the Center on Contemporary China at Princeton University in June.
